The brown one of these commissioned beers, a bit more interesting than its blonde counterpart; ruby brown colour, some candi sugar, bit of coffee grounds in the aroma, taste of dried fruits and caramelly malts, thin mouthfeel especially for this type of beer and bit disappointing finish.

Realized my first rating was based on the beer being too cold....nice creamy head, dark rich brown in color with mellow bitterness, dark malts and hops come through. At the right temperature, this is a nice beer...

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and spices - especially ginger. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and ginger, leading to a dry and spicy finish.

Bottled (thanks Frank@Poirotti). Deep amber colour with some slight haze. Aroma is caramel malts, some slight fruityness, spices and yeast. Flavour is rather sweeet syrupy along with wood, sweet malts as well as some mild nutty notes

bottle in Li Crochon glass. pours hazy brown, beige head. Aroma, yeasty, caramel malts and some dark fruits as well as some residual candy sugar. Taste, roasted malts, caramel, yeasty, candy sugar, some dark fruits; figs, currants, light floral touch with a sugary profile with fruits. ABV becomes more evident as beer warms up. A rather fine example of a good Belgian Strong Ale, really liked this one a lot.
