Den frischen Schluck Heimat gibt's natürlich auch in der dunklen Variante - spritzig und erfrischend. Mit feiner Hefe in der Flasche gereift.

Leicht karamelliger, mild dunkelmalziger Beginn. Geringe Herbe, wenig würzig, zunehmend malzig. Süffig, eher kurzer Abgang, ok. 9/7/8/7/6/7

Bottle shared on the train during the Bamberg Post Christmas Jolly - January 2014. Pours lightly hazy golden-brown with a creamy, off-white head. So so overall, sugary, some rich wheat bread, dried cereal. Faint, fruits - berries, bananas. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, light caramel, toasted wheat. OK stuff.

Day 3 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, bottle from the Rewe Bamberg shared on the train from Nuremberg to Freising, 26/01/14. I simply wrote down ’Jura Weizen’ so bowing to the majority here on which one to rate ! Murky orange amber with a decent biege head. Nose is tangy orange, light bready notes, hint of noffee pie, light spice. Taste comprises orange, toffee, yeast, light spice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Ok stuff.

Bottle. Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, mid-sized stable fluffy off-white head. Sweet dry berries in the nose, mixed with wheat and dark malt, accompanied by a light phenolic touch. Moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, light to medium bodied. Fruity and caramelly finish with a touch of cacao-powder in the aftertaste. Very pleasant, well balanced Dunkelweizen.............
