0.6L bottle courtesy of madmitch76. It pours murky amber with full milk shake looking tan head. The aroma is full rich dark fruity esters with sun dried plums, dried sweet cherries and dates as well as sweet caramel and candy and really no sense of the huge ABV. The taste is nice and smooth starting with some subtle spicy yeast and spicy wood then moving into rich prune notes, pureed and sugar stewed ripe cherries, ripe red apples and then creamy caramel candy. I get only modest booziness and warming into the finish. This is one fine English style barelywine.

0.6l bottle-thanks Ibrew2or3 Tampa Weekly Gathering @TBBC-pours a foamy light tan head with cloudy amber color. Aroma is medium fruit, sweet medium malt-toffee/bready, slight spice hops. Taste is slightly hot/alcohol,/booy upfront. Medium/dark fruit-cherry, wood, medium malt-toffee, herbal/earthy hops.

Bouteille partagée avec ibrew2or3. couleur ambre brumeuse, mousse épaisse de type blanc-cassé. Description de cette bière est assez compliquée de par la complexité du breuvage. Je note pas mal de malt et de caramel, le tout suivit de sucre brun laissant un aspect de sirop collant en bouche, qcq épices pour un palais qui reste sec, une douceur qui laisse apparaître des notes de miel? Je n’ai pas trop perçu les tonneaux qui se sont peut être atténués. Au fini, on peut y percevoir des traces de fruits sans que cela justifie l’usage des tonneaux de Porto et de Bordeaux.

(Bottle bought at Ølbutikken) Poured clouydy and brown. Head was small and white. Aroma contained raisin, plum, malts, wood, mildly vanilla and hops. Palate was full bodied and warming with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, wood, vineousness, mildly vanilla and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Interesting combination of quite strong sweetness and wine like flavours. I would have preferred a smaller bottle, though.

Bottle. Big thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a thin tan head, fading over a hazy orange-bronze body. Aroma is very vinous, port, caramel, alcohol, barrel, chewy and toffee. Taste is very raisiny, vinous, alcohol, sherry, and caramel. Syrupy with light bubbles. Very good!

50cl bottle pours a translucent copper, amber with a creamy, beige head. Nice sherry aroma, caramel, malts, pumpernickel bread, a little wood. Flavor is malty, caramel, a little salty, port barrels, wood, red grapes. Finish is full bodied and dry. I kept coming back to this bottle to top off my glass.

CBF 09. Buttered scones, caramel, apricot hop nose. Cloudy orange, low head. On the buttery sweet side, Werthers Echte, vanilla. Mellow thick mouthfeel. Somewhat messy

Bottle. Strange orange color. Really hazy. This is a perfect barley wine! With ageing this could be a world class beer. Hops and sweet vegtables in aroma. Flowery sweet taste of hops, cookies and sweet vegtables. Small bitterness in the end. Fat and oily barley wine monster.
