Can. Amber colour with a mediumsized foamy off-white head. Aroma is toasted, mild herbs, earth and some grainy tones. Flavour is grainy, herbal, watery, mild wooden and some toasted tones to it. Mild nutty elements in the finish.
On keg at Dean Tavern in Newtongrange - deep russet body and a little white head. Not much in the nose or taste. Very light and easy.

Can thanks to Scopey. A clear amber brown coloured pour with a fine off white head. Aroma is simple nutty malts stewed veg, toast, some bread brown. Flavour is composed of simple nutty malts some dried fruits, chalky, baking powder. Palate is semi sweet, dry chalky, highish carbonation. Simple. .

Can from Tesco as Tennents Special. It pours clear brown with a foamy white head. The aroma is sweet, malt - driven, brown bread, malt, loaf, light ginger bread and wet cardboard. The taste is dry, sweet caramel, brown bread mostly, malt loaf, wet cardboard and toasty grain with a drying finish. Light body and average carbonation. Pretty bland stuff, but to be honest there is a lot worse out there. Brown summaries this beer.

Nice copper color with a fine thick white head. God lacing down the glass. Typical malty and toffee dominated British bitter. But quite balanced and ok. Also a decent carbonation that made it quite fresh. Absolutely ok. Decent 3,5% ale.

Can from Tesco, Corby. Copper with a red tint, although practically no head. With a low carbonation, this is a sweetened bitter. Passable but unexciting.

500ml can from Scotmid. Pours clear copper with a fast-vanishing of-white head. Aromas of dark sugar and butterscotch. Taste is sweet with a light herbal note. Thin body, medium carbonation. Astringent finish. Meh.

From a June 2008 BA review: Tennets 70 Shilling in a 440ml nitro-can, 3.5% in alcohol. Found in a supermarket in Tobago and bought purely to review on here (and for the hell of it). Best Before Date had been rubbed out, so I assume it was old! Looked good though, fine amber hue to it, with a creamy off-white head. Malts, hops and yeast abounded in the aroma, a good beery smell. Just what I needed after a week of Carib Lager. Sadly the beer tasted stale (it most likelty was), so not impressed with the taste, mouthfeel and drinkability.
