Bottled. It pours a nice copper color, lively carbonation and a decent off-white head. The aroma is quite malty, with some strange bitterness in the background, it reminds me of a medicine I got when I was a kid, but not the medicine-like aroma found in some belgians. It is also a bit grainy. The flavor is malty as well, with grain and some alcohol, as expected from a discount julebryg. Medium body and a sweet finish with an ok bitterness level. There’s not much wrong with it, it’s just a cheap julebryg, and even a not-that-cheap julebryg isn’t too good. (070110)

An amber beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and sirup and corn. The flavor is sweet with caramel dominating, but with notes of metal and sirup and corn lying in the background. In the beginning the mouthfeel is watery, but then You can feel the alcohol, so it gets thicker while in your mouth, and ends up with a dry alcoholic note on Your palate.

A caramel colored beer with a fine, but disappearing, beige head. The aroma is quite sweet with notes of caramel, corn, and hints of hops. The flavor is malty with notes of straw, caramel, corn, slight spiciness, and a dry hoppy end. While the body is thin.

(Bottle 33 cl) As "Vestfyen Sneugle Julebryg". Rather pale golden - very close to pilsener in colour. No head, no aroma and only a weak hint of some malt. Somewhat metallic edge. A poor Christmas beer. 091299

Take an American standard with its corn sweetness, add a little more hops + alcohol and just a touch of spicyness (nutmeg?) - and you have this "Christmas brew". Not nearly as bad as I expected, this is still far from the quality of a Norwegian "klasse F" Christmas beer. I have no idea why they imported this stuff to Norway - in Denmark at least it''s cheap, here it''s expensive.
