Pours a golden beery color with a huge bubbly white head that sticks around forever. Smells of wet horse blanket, spicy Belgian yeast, lemons, a bit phenolic. Taste is kind of rough! Really bretty character with some solvent, medicinal and phenolic. Some citrus and spices thrown in there as well. Carbonation is high, body is medium to thin, mouthfeel is syrupy. I guess its decent for an all brett beer, but I really would have liked some acid in this one. I didn’t taste any of the figs or white pepper either. This bottle is older, maybe its faded. This actually grew on me as I drank it, but really this one is nothing special.

5th January 2009
Cloudy gold beer, no real head. Immediately reminded of Deus - with an aromatic sweet water chesnut. This beer also has a sweet undertone and a sourish main. I fancy the sweetness is the hibiscus. Crisp palate and with spicy (white pepper) kick in the dry finish. Unusual.

A hazed blonde ale with a thin creamy white head. Loads of Brett in aroma, flowers, sweet milk, very smooth. In mouth, an Orval like offering, with light lactic notes, mildew and Brett, light fruity notes, black pepper, really nice and balanced. A supeb beer. Tasted with Diogene, GRM, Probstk, and Grant, May 19 2010.

Thick, glowing orange with a bubbly head. Aroma of citrus, apricots, honey, hay, pineapple. Hoppy brett flavor with apricots and honey. Very dry. Figs noticeable as well. Champagne-like and bretty beer that is refreshing and complex. Great.

Bomber poured into Trappist glass. Bottled in April 2008. Drank in May 2010. Aroma is so pungently funky with Brett, it’s almost overbearing! I love it! (Sorry, Brenn79, I know you hate it when I use the word funky in all my reviews of beers involving Brettanomyces. No other word fits as well!!) Sour sour aroma with notes of figs. Pours a hazy yellowish orange with a medium head and foamy lacework. Taste starts out a little sweet, but the sourness dominates. Very little bitterness. This is one of the fullest bodied beers I’ve ever had. Finishes with a floral acidic mouth-filling aftertaste. Carbonation is medium; oily and creamy texture. I’m surprised at the average score here. I’m blown away by this one. Perhaps the reviewers who ranked it fresh should rerank it now that it’s aged a little? One other thing--the category this beer is under on here is "Belgian Ale" which isn’t very specific. It definitely fits the description of a sour ale.
