Tap at Open Baladin, Roma - 04/10/12. Clear dark amber with a big frothy tan head. Nose is of toffee, fudge, spice a little smoke, dark fruits and Belgian yeast. Tastes of light caramel, bread, biscuit, dark fruits, smoke and some spice. Full bodied with soft carbonation leading to a bitter smoked finish.

Taster from the draft menu at Open Baladin. Clear, amber coloured body, naked surface. Intense and delicious smoked aroma, just like my Islay Smokehead whisky. The flavour profile does not follow suit with a rather ordinary malt-fruity taste with peaty notes. Herbal hoppy finish (Roma, 31.03.2012).

Corpo medio-basso, carbonazione soft. Abbastanza deludente, da riprovare sicuramente.

Hazy amber beer. Small white head. Made with peated malt. Soft dry palate. Peaty whiskeyish malt underpinned by sweet peach and banana fruit notes. Very dry finish. Unusual and quite drinkable.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of smoke, phenols, and iodine. The flavor is sweet with notes of smoke, iodine, malt, caramel, and phenols, leading to a dry phenolic and iodinic finish.
