Bottle at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. It pours an amber to brown body, almost clear, topped by a nice, dense, beige head. The aroma has cardamom, forest, juniper and something perfume-like. Sweet flavor with some salty licorice, alcohol-warmth and some spices. Full-bodied, sticky and warming. It finishes with a lasting flavor of spices and licorice. Quite sweet. A decent, smooth beer, too sweet to give it drinkability, but as a sipper it works. (080913)

Bottled. A murky brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of cinnamon, ginger, and cardemomme, but also a slight burnt edge. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of spices especially ginger and cardemomme, but also with a an acidic note, leading to a dry spicy finish. A bit too much spice for me.

Sampled @ EBF 2008. Dark brown with a dense beige head. Nice spicy aroma of ginger and other Christmas aromas mixed with fruity hop aroma. Flavor is bittersweet, malty, ginger. A bitter finsih with alcohol. Quite nice and promising, but a bit out of balance for my taste.

Sampled from bottle at EBF 08. Dark, orange body with a bubbly surface. Spicy oats to the nose. Dark, sweet fruits in flavour with a liquorice edge. Modest bitter endnotes. Foamy mouthfeel and smooth palate. To my liking (13.09.2008).
