On cask at the William Stead. Appearance - amber with a decent head. Nose - apples and dry biscuit. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - solid bitter.

Cask at a plastic pub, in Tewkesbury. Red amber colour with thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Smooth fruity, and malty aroma and taste.

A tasty old ale with a welcome caramel finish. Aroma of toffee, oak and fruit. Autumnal. Malty and full-bodied, you feel the added strength after a couple of these.

Cask @ Taylor Walker, London. Pours amber with a white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, little fruity. Flavor is malt, caramel, light fruity hops. Medium body, soft carbonation. 200913

Cask at the White Horse, Oxford on 24th April 2013. Crystal clear copper with thin off-white laceless ring. Sweet malt aromas. Sweet in mouth - fruittella, childrenโ€™s confectionery. Aftertaste much along the same lines with strawberry notes. Texture pleasant if one ignores the sugarsweet flavours. Not a favourite.

1/2 pint@Castle Hotel, Manchester. Clear ruby body, with spare creamy head. Hops, with some basement and citrus aroma. Smooth and full bodied, with a well-balanced taste, hint of orange and unripe plum. Thanks for buying this one, Rune!
