A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, King of Prussia, PA. Deep reddish chestnut with a thin cream head; sweet, malty aroma, as expected, with perhaps a trace of maple syrup; the taste is similar, rather thin with caramel malts, and a hint of maple; the finish is rather muddy and dry.

Purchased at Breeze Thru Wine & Spirits in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed after work on a nice night, kind of non-descript night. Appearance is a slightly cloudy dark caramel brown with a thin white head that laces to the glass. Aroma is pretty nice, definite maple syrup presence, nuts, and caramel malt, smells sweet. Taste is kind of syrupy and sweet but also has a light caramel malt crispness on the back end. It’s not bad, and certainly better than the ratings that I’ve seen.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a cloudy nut brown with about a half finger of off-white head. Aroma of caramel, roasty nuts and maple syrup. Taste is light sweet. Maple, caramel and nuts. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Flat carbonation but a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Interesting take on the style and I’m glad I’m drinking this one, but I wouldn’t seek it out.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best by 4/2/2012. Pours slightly hazy reddish brown color with a good 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Some spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of caramel, toasted malt, biscuit, light chocolate, roasted nut, and maple syrup. Some decent aromas that are on the weak side. Taste of toasted malt, caramel, maple, roasted nut, and a touch of herbal hops. A surprising lack of flavor here, but it isn’t offensive. Really dry finish; but some lingering notes of caramel and maple for a few seconds. Light-medium carbonation and body; with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Very drinkable as expected, with no alcohol noticed at all as expected for 4.5%. Some good flavor balance for what is present. Overall this is an ok beer. Not offensive by any means, but it really is lacking in the flavor department. I wanted it to be much more robust than what was offered.

Medium to dark brown pour with an off-white head. Aroma is sugary sweet malts, toasted, maple, caramel. Flavor is heavy on the caramel malts, toast, light maple, too. Super sweet back-end. Hard to finish this one.

Bottle from Utobeer. Very deep clear dark brown almost black with lasting beige head. Strong syrupy malty aroma. Malty flavour continues into the mouth with then maple syrupy flavour on the finish. It’s sweetish but quite nutty and maple syrupy. Fine.

Maple nut molasses flavor. Hint of pancake syrup. Some nuttiness. This one’s not for everyone, but I tend to like the "odd ducks" of beer, so I dig this one. Rated 10/18/10

12oz maple. Creamy red brown, the color fits the style well. Mellow sweet toffee aroma. Maple syrup certainly comes across. Malty, nutty..a pretty decent Brown Ale. Easy and mellow, quite sessionable. Some distant sandy hop bitterness balances it out. A well executed Brown, quite enjoyable.
