Red-amber beer, this time with a hoppy aroma backed by a little malt. It's a full flavoured, hoppy, malty best bitter to taste, with a mellow, moreish, pleasantly bitter and hoppy finish.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 8 Aug 2009) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dark bread and dark fruit. A bit closed. Malty, nutty taste with dried fruit and some dusty hops in the finish. Slightly below medium body, fairly dry. Decent but hardly exciting.

Cask at Wenlock Arms. Amber with a small off-white head. Strong apple peel aroma keeping toffee malt in the background. Fruity and somewhat dry flavour with apple notes, and wooden hops in the finish.

Bottle, shared by fonefan. It pours a quite clear, golden body, topped by a small, beige head. There’s fruit and caramel in the aroma, but also some signs of infection. Lemony, caramel flavor with the fruits dominating. Dryish and astringent in the mouth. Lemony finish. Quite drinkable, and I bet it’s a great session beer from cask. Still, too focused on the lemon. 50cl bottle. Pours hazy orange/amber with a off white head. Thin & a bit mouldy old taste with hints of citrus. Palate is a bit weak. Allright!
