WILD BLOND BIER MET VERGETEN KRUIDEN
Een voorjaarswandeling in de bergen, een afdaling naar een alpenweide met mistflarden, waar kruiden groeien die de lucht vullen met frisse, bloemige geuren. Koele, zuivere berglucht vult je longen, alles ademt puurheid. In het dal hangt de echo van een eenvoudiger leven, dichtbij de natuur, dichtbij ons hart. Hier vinden we terug wat we kwijt zijn geraakt.
Alm is een droog, licht bitter wild bier met ‘vergeten’ kruiden, ofwel kruiden die je tegenwoordig bijna niet meer ziet. Zonde, want ze hebben vaak heerlijke aroma’s die wij graag laten schitteren in ons bier. Zomeralsem geeft frisse, zachte toetsen van citrus en jong gras. Het kruidige Belgische randje van onze wilde huisgist gaat mooi samen met de biscuit-achtige moutigheid van het bier.
Alm heeft de gouden medaille gewonnen bij de Dutch Beer Challenge 2019 in de categorie “Innovatie/speciaal – minder dan 6% ABV”.

(Draught at Het Lagerhuys, Amsterdam, 4 May 2022) Golden amber colour, hazy, with frothy white head. Fruity, spicy nose with notes of citrus, grapefruit, herbs and flowers. Malty, spicy taste with grapefruit, hay, herbs, yeast and a balanced herbal bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Interesting and quite herbal. Nice one.

Tap at ASF 2022, Reggio Emilia, Italy. 2018 vintage, batch #4. Pours hazy blonde, a little pale, with fine white foam, limited. Aroma is fruity, floral almost like a perfume, with almond milk. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is only moderately sour, with delicate sweetness behind. Final is fairly short.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of ripe fruit, barnyard, herbs, flowers and cereals. Pours hazy dark straw color with thin creamy white head and soft visible carbonation. Taste starts tart citrusy and herbal with coriander, following is vinous, funky and grainy with notes of tannins, mouthfeel is crisp and dry, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Nightmare on the Alm Street…

Bottle during operation clear the stash (09/02/2022) - hazy golden pour with a white head. light tart citrus fruity, notes of lemon, hay, straw, orchard fruit, herbal and floral , light herbal spice into the tart close.

Bottle at home. Quite fizzy. Minty, lots of aromatic fresh herbs, soft malt. It's nice, but far from the best Nevel beer.
