Exmoor’s 25th anniversary in 2005 was celebrated in style with this chestnut-coloured bitter.

It includes a complex mix of four hops – Goldings, Bramling Cross, Northdown and WGV, plus a pinch of chocolate malt joining pale malt in the mash.

Cask at Stanmore Spoons. Pale gold pour with small head. Fruity aroma. Fruity, malty, slightly hoppy taste. What a lousy beer this is.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Amber with a dense cream head; malt aroma; thin body with some caramel malt flavours and a touch of fruit; dry finish. Underwhelming.

Cask @ GBBF 2008. Poours a pale amber color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with some nutty hints and some hints of hops. Fruity malty caramel flavor with some hoppy citrus hints and some nutty hints. Has a sweetish malty fruity caramel finish.

Cask (handpump) @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.Clear light to medium amber orange color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, nutty - light nut’s, butter notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (070808)

Cask@GBBF2008. Golden colour, small white fluffy head. Aroma is wooden, nice fruity and flowery hops. Flavour is dry wood along with some sweet fruityness. Wellbalanced and quite nice. Mild spicyness in the finish.

Clear amber with tiny white head. Sweet malty aroma with mild hoppy notes. Sweet flavor with toasted malt, caramel and hops.

Cask-conditioned at the Knights Templar (JDW), Bristol 5/7/08. Golden in colour with a slight white head. Crisp malt aroma with a touch of citrus hop. Flavour was slightly sweet with a decent bitter finish. Ok.

cask handpull at Market Porter. Amber with thin off white head. ESB bitter with some fruit, some yest, some hop. Very acceptable ESB, but nothing special and I was a bit pissed by this stage.
