Cask, handpump, poured into my one-third pint glass at The Great British Beer Festival in Earls Court. The body is deep and black as pitch. Low, beige and bubbly head. Roasted bittersweet malts to the nose. Liquorice, leather, earth and nuts in flavour. Dry and smooth ending. Over par for the style (London, 02.08.2011).
