Cask @ Market Porter, London. Sparkling, caramel. More like a cola. Bit boring.

Cask at the 3Bs, Reading. Dark, ruby red body with a dense cream head; caramel malt aromas; smooth and dry in the mouth with more caramel flavours; leading to a chewy toffee finish which is not over sweet. An excellent dark mild.

Cask@The Criterion, Leicester. Ruby black beer with a light head. The aroma is cheesy and roasted, and the flavour is lightly roasted. Overall a nice lightly roasted mild.

Big brown coarse head shrinks quickly. Deep dark red body, barely translucent. Strange earthy, meaty, peppery, liquorice aroma, faintly acidic with notes of metal. Taste is sharp, almost biting because of carbonation in mouth. Sooty, metallic, and roasty with what seems like hop notes. Burnt, meaty aftertaste. An unusual beer, but quite nice. (0.5l bottle.)
