Bottled (Waitrose Dunkel Weissbier). Amber colour, not that much head. Aroma is wheat, mild bananas and some mild spices and yeast. Flavour is wheat, dark fruits, banana and that’s about it.

Bottle as Waitrose Bavarian Dunkel Weissbier; 500 ml bottle; BBE Feb 2009. Hazy brown color with a vigorous off-white head. Starts with clove and bana, followed by a little wheat. Medium body with coarsely creamy carbonation. Finishes dry with light clove. Pretty refreshing.

Bottle (from Waitrose). Sour milk, banana, and clove aroma. Cloudy brown-orange color with big tan head. Slight sweet banana, clove and creamy malt flavor. Pretty good. Re-rate purchased in Germany: no difference - naturally fresher which is always a plus. Very solid dunkelweizen.

Bottled from Waitrose. Mid-brown coloured with a long lasting head. This was a fairly standard wheat beer, not noticeably different from a standard hefe, with the usual taste of cloves and bananas. Not a bad drink, but not memorable either.

Waitrose Bavarian Dark Wheat Beer. A hazy toffee brown colour; large white head falls back to leave a good covering; a sweet caramel banana aroma; typical refreshing weissbier mouthfeel - slightly prickly - with wheat, clove and nutmeg flavours. Sweet aftertaste, with more caramel. Very drinkable.

Purchased as a bottle of Bavarian Dark Wheat Beer from Waitrose, Witney, July 10th 2006. Brown beer with a frothy light beige head, definate wheaty notes in the aroma and wheaty in the flavour, slightly sharp towards the finish but quite a likeable little number.

500ml bottle from Waitrose. Dark wheat beer, dirty brown with hints of amber. Lasting head. Yeasty/cereal/lemon/bubblegum aroma with some banana. More cereal in mouth (oats) with a malty/lemon/bubblegum finish. Bit weird but I quite liked it.
