Bottle. Papsoes MadsBerg homecoming blindtasting, bottle #18. Pours slight cloudy and orange with a lacing white head. Mild spiced and light hoppy aroma. Flavour is mild citric and light yeasty. Light bitterness lurking through. Mild berry fruity note too. Ends fruity and light citric. Mild bitterness lurking through.

22 oz. bottle purchased via mail order for Archer in Chicago. Shared with a bunch of folks at Uber Tavern in Seattle. Pour is mostly clear orange amber not much head. Aroma of ripe red apple and some honey sweetness. Jolly rancher candy is present as well. Taste has honey, apple and some hoppiness to the finish. Drying and grassy. Nice, very unique.

22 oz. bottle. Folks, with my wife in the hospital following the birth of our daughter, Feb. 22 was my last chance to go home alone and eat greasy pizza, drink beer and watch "Animal House." I wrapped the celebration up with this beer, and frankly, I liked it. Golden honey color under a thin head. Follows up with a light honey smell balanced by golden and caramel malts. Honey is suitably dense, but has been nicely finished so it’s not too sweet. Around it are some nice crisp ale malts that offer support instead of contrast. A nice bottle to celebrate with.

22 oz. bomber. Easy drinking because of the sweet, fruity flavors of this beer/mead. Golden orange pour with a fluffy white diminishing head. The aroma is full of honey and fruit — apple, melon with an aftertaste of blueberry and strawberry. Medium body and slightly sticky texture. Fizzy carbonation. Clean finish.

Medium gold with tiny suspended particles, a sparking body, and a lasting, foamy head - aroma of honey, flowers, apples, some earthy, almost musty notes - light-bodied, with somewhat prickly carbonation - there appears to be a higher ratio of ale to mead, at least to start things off - a grainy and somewhat fruity character manifest at first, then the heavier, honey-sweet mead character settles in, bringing with it a heavier mouthfeel, floral notes, and an almost boozy/apple brandy sweetness - an interesting combination of flavors that I think works pretty well starts rather ale-like, and finishes all mead - another under-rated beer from two brothers.

Hazy golden coloured body with a very thinnish white head. Aroma of honey, malt and yeast with some other sweetness lingering behind. Medium-bodied; Strong sweet flavour with wheat and yeast also noticeable. Honey was definitely the main player here - but not overly so. Aftertaste showed some quality - more malt than I’d expect from the style. Overall, a good mead, a lot of honey and a good strong beer that lasts long in the palate - not great for a Chicago summer! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Binny’s Downtown in Chicago, Il on 08-October-2007.

Enjoyed thanks to xnoxhatex. Pours a basic honey color, clear beer with a small head. The beer, the beer… well as sersdf says, its a lager mixed with honey. Basically, it turns out as pretty decent Maibock, that all. A nice malty (the honey really only adds a feeling of sweet malt), lightly sweet, light-medium bodied lager. As a Maibock it’s good, as a Braggot, well its forgettable and regrettable (what’s the logic here?). I expected more from this brewery. 22oz bottle, Hobgoblin tulip glass.
