Best Standard Dark Ale in the 2008 World Beer Awards. A traditional full malty 'Brown Ale' with a creamy head. Mild hop notes with a lingering biscuity sweet palate give coffee and liquorice notes. A bitter sweet finish.

Bottled at Ølfestival, Århus, 2008. A deep red beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of nuts and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel as well as lighter notes of roasted malt and wood, leading to a dry bitter finish.

500ml bottle, enjoyed along with Chris_o and SilkTork at Silk’s wedding reception. Deep brown/ruby colour with lasting deep beige head. Toffee/choc aroma, milk choc. Very toffee brown ale. Some bite on end. Bit sickly buttery/toffee. Crisp bitter finish helped by prickly carbonation. Toffee throughout.
