Fairly malty with a fresh citrus note and a notably herbal presence from the hops Deeply herbal-hoppy, with a soft body and only gentle malt flavours. A tangy bitterness is the result Dry and bitter with herbal hops persisting It's a bit one-dimensional – it could use a little more sweetness – but it's certainly clean and dry.

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Pale yellow with a thin head. With its citric hints and a nod to a pale ale in texture, as well as its low carbonation this slightly more of an ale than a lager, and just about decent enough to enjoy.

Bottle at the White Lady. Looks like a lager should look. Tastes like a lager should taste. OK.

Bottled@Poirotti’s Skotoberfest 2007. Yellowish golden colour with small white creamy head. Aroma is skunked malts along with some grassy hops. Flavour is mainly the same. OK brew, but not very exciting.

500ml bottle from May’s Organic shop in Lewes. Gold colour with thin white head. Fairly awful to start with but the hop on the finish does come through. Bit toasty on aroma, bit thin and tinny in mouth. As a blonde ale, it might work, but as a lager, apart from that decent hop finish, there isn’t too much.
