Looks great. Red brown with nice creamy off white head. Taste is a little bitter with malt and caramel. Bang average brown ale. Meh!

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Dark brown with a beige head. Caramelised nuts and chocolate syrup with hints of ash and liquorice. An interesting and quite enjoyable flavour actually. Sadly it's badly let down by a very thin and watery body. Such a shame.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A dark chestnut brown pour, almost black, with a scattering of beige head; toasty aroma; thin and watery in the mouth with a hint of chocolate syrup; and a dry finish with some chocolate and unpleasant spices. Not to my taste!

Cask up the White Lady. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Taste is more of the same. Roasty finish.

Beer Number 10 at the Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival 2025, leaving 18 of 30 still untried. Brown ale name, perhaps some influence, but generally more dark in character for me, and nothing too interesting really. Hint of sweetness.
