(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Golden yellow colour, slightly hazy, with frothy white head. Fruity, malty nose with wheat flour dough, citrus, grass and tropical fruit. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of citrus, pineapple and a doughy wheat character. More than medium body, with solid malt structure. Balanced sweetness. Short citrussy finish with low bitterness. Solid and tasty witbier.

Since my car broke down I had to walk a mile to Stop and Shop to get supplies and picked up a six pack of this brew which they don’t normally carry. Pours hazy yellow with very little head that dissapears quickly. tastes citrusy and you can pick out the orange peel. Very refreshing and and enjoyable beer and well worth carrying a mile uphill in 35 degree weather.

Bottle. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is sour, citrus, wheat, fruit. Flavour is sour, citrus, wheat, mandarin. Medium body. OK beer.

Bottle, 12oz. It’s an almost clear, almost golden beer topped by a minimal off-white head. Slightly peppery on the nose, with sourish citrusy notes. Nice, bud it could be more pronounced. The flavor is more on the curacao orange side than I prefer, both sweet and slightly sour, with appropriate coriander levels. Herbal, bitter finish. Medium body. A refreshing beer, pity the flavor isn’t at the same level as the aroma. 090925

really nice belgian white. i compare most to alagash, and this one was right up there. not bad spice content, not enough to contend w/ alagash, but decent. nice clean aftertase that warrants many more drinks.

12 oz bottle. Livly, golden body with a diminishing whitehead. Aroma is spicy and slightly acid with a hint of esters. Flavor is sweet with some fruity acid, spices and mandarin. Refreshing, some bitterness in the finish, a bit thin body and short aftertaste.

12oz bottle - Pours clear yellow/gold with a very thin head. It has a spicy aroma of coriander and clover with citrus notes as well. The flavor is sweet and spicy with some citrus. It’s medium bodied and leaves a touch of coriander in the finish. Very solid.

12 oz bottle. Might have been a month past its date, not sure, the date code was smeared, but I wouldn’t be surprised coming from Total Wine. Anyhoo, poured a golden color, mildly hazy, foaming white head. Didn’t really look like a witbier. I’ve been moving toward an active dislike of the style for awhile now, and this one came just in time to remind me of what is good in these beers. Refreshing nose was big on coriander, with a little citrus and minty wheat, very little phenol, which I appreciate. Flavor was clean enough, with a touch of coriander and zesty wheat, hint of citrus. Clean slightly herbal finish.

12 ounce bottle from Bruisin Ales. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin head. Aroma is very bready, yeasty and spicy. Overly spiced almost like a pumpkin ale. Taste is citrus, bread, caramel and spice. Medium bodied. Not too impressed with this one.

Overall Impression: I thought this one was basically a better version (similar characteristics, just a done better) of a Hoegaarden. I liked it, but didn't love it.
