Double White Ale

35 cl bottle. Unclear hazy yellow with a beauty egg white head that lasts. Aroma is fresh - orange peel & only light coriander & wheat. Smooth & soft palate. Taste is a bit more aggressive. A lot of coriander, some wheat & cough medicine feel. A bit too violent I think! But OK

12 oz. bottle from MrBendo and beastiefan2k. Pour is a slightly hazy pale yellow with a nice white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, coriander and citrus fruit. Taste is a nice fully body with wheat, orange and the coriander spice very present. A nice soft hop bitterness to the finish. Very clean tasting - and very refreshing. Thank you gentleman.

12 oz bottle. Decent enough witbier, though a little more spicy than I’m used to. Aroma is that of spice, banana, and some orange. Flavor is strong spice, with hints of wheat and grains.

Very hazy golden coloured body with a small white head. Aroma of coriander seed, grass, hops, yeast and very potent cloves and bananas - a definite white! Medium-bodied; Strong spicey flavour with coriander seed and wheat most noticeable. Very nice and long-lasting makes this one good. Aftertaste shows more spice and nothing harsh - a great beer overall! This beer turned out great and I was very impressed by this throughout. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from K&E Discount Beverage in New Paltz, New York on 22-June-2007 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Aroma is lemon grass and yeast. Pour is cloudy yellow, thin head, and good lacing. Medicny, definitely Belgian. Bitter lemon and actually a hint of roasted malts then sweet lemon finish. Well made, but not to my liking.

Bottle courtesy of Moejuck: Poured a cloudy orangey color ale with a nice thick foamy head with better then average retention. Aroma of huge bubblegum wheat and coriander is interesting and quite different from the norm. Taste is spicy with a strange mix between some coriander and huge presence of wheat with a strange bubblegum feeling. Body is definitely full with some adequate carbonation. While this beer is very interesting and innovative, I wonder if bigger is always better and if in this particular case I would probably prefer a regular wit (Allagash, Ommegang..) to provide an interesting but somewhat easy refreshing option.

Just coerced a sample of this today. Hella pale, not really cloudy like some other witbiers. Hell of spicy witbier smell like the standard essentially. Has a big head that leaves quickly. Spicy and citrusy just like other witbiers. Covers the high alcohol with a sweetish taste. Nothing really special except for the high alcohol.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy straw color with a large white head. The aroma was strong dry spice and lemon. The flavor was dry, tangy and a little tart with noticeable coriander element and a tart lemony undertone. The finish is long, spicy and dry.

12 oz brown bottle from the Beer Store in Moon for $2. Cloudy light yellow with brown thin white head with a tinge of brown. Looks good, yeast particles mysteriously spinning around if poured properly. Pop the lid for a yeasty beer aroma with alky citrus background hints. Good hefe wheat like taste but stronger as far as alky goes, compared to a gentleman wit. More like a hefe not wit. White wheat beer flavor is strong. Good creamy carbonation fizz on the throat. Some medium building bitterness does seem to come across on the finish. A little more offensive personality than I am used to with a mild wit. Overall, good but may not be easily repeatable considering the high alky personality. I think this may be below the average of wits flavors that I have tasted, however, those who like high alky brews will appreciate this representation of the style. Finish is lasting medium bitterness on the back of the throat. Nice rendition of an otherwise strong brew.
