After some gushing from this 2006 bottle, it pours a cloudy colour of rust. The foam is small but long lasting. The lacing. .superb.
The smell is dry and musty. Very much wine like for the dry and musty as in there’s a lot of Brett character. Pretty amazing aromas in my book.
The taste is just as good as the smell. Strong Brett complimenting a super dry wine like taste. Mildly tart, earthy as all hell, a treat to drink.
Good mouthfeel. .the carbonation is a bit high, imho.
9 years old and quite entertaining.
In the fridge for a week and it still gushed when I popped the cap. A delicious cherry sour with strong Brett character.

A hazed burgundy red ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, corky cherry malt with light lactic and funky character. In mouth, a tart cherry ale with light corky notes, tannins, a bit harsh. Sampler at Battle of the Belgians at Jimmys 43.

75 cl bottle @ Vinoteca Piemonte. Rated on 17.09.2010
Somewhat light aroma with slightly sweet cherries and hints of earthy notes. Flavour has sweet and somewhat tart cherries, some earthy and woody notes. Way too low on sourness to be a nice Sour Ale – and too low on sweetness to be a dessert beer.

Bottle shared at my 30:th birthday tasting on May 5 (30 år av Surt). Courtesy of Larsniclas. Gusher! Pours hazy dark deep red with a big fizzy pinkish white head that is rather quick to dissipate without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and sour with burnt sugar, cherries, vinegar, lemon juice, lemon zest and hints of raspberries. Taste is sweet and sour with wood, charries, red currants, hay, burnt sugar, grapefruit juice, lemon zest and hints of vinegar. Mouthfeel is tart, tiny dry, tiny watery and light to medium bodied. Finish is sour and tart with cherries, red berries, hay and lemon zest.

Bottle at "30 år av surt", on May 5, 2012 in Göteborg. Batch # 2008/E. Brune col beige.
