Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of boozy whisky, coffee, red fruit, cacao and oak. Heavy taste of mild peat, smoke, red fruit, licorice, booze, bitter hop and a mildly tart finish. Nice, not his best and feels unfinished.

On tap at Murphy’s Law, The Hague. Pitch black pour with a nice tan head. Notes of chocolate, smoke, cocoa, whiskey, sherry, caramel and toffee. Full body, medium carbonation and a smokey bitter-sweet finish. A beer that balances the barrel notes with the roasty malt in a very nice way.

Intensiv malziger, etwas schokoladiger Antrunk. Die Fasslagerung ist deutlich, vollmundig, geringe Karbonisierung. Zum Ende ist der Alkohol kurz erkennbar, stört aber nicht. Intensiv, gut. 10/11/12/12/11/12

0.33 l bottle from ’BierCab’, best before October 2020. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, some licorice, hazelnut and some vanilla. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, hazelnut and vanilla, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very harmonic, just subtle barrel notes, pleasant mouthfeel. Very nice!

Draft at Arendsnest. Black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, fudge, oak, whiskey, caramel and licorice. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. A little let down my the mouthfeel after the aroma. Medium bodied with a bit of a thin watery texture and flat carbonation. Comes across as not ready.
