Bottle at home from the estate. Clear golden. Juicy apple, dusty funk, mineral, oaky tannins with a touch of leather but it’s more oak and dry funk that’s up front here. Almost medium sweet. Solid medium dry. Very classic stuff, nice.

(Bottle, vintage 2015) Golden amber colour with foamy off-white head. Fruity nose with notes of red apples, cellar, flowers, earth and hay. Fruity, slightly tart taste with apples, cellar, earth, wood, hay and a dry finish with a balanced acidity. Medium body, dry. Tasty and well made, dry with notes of cellar and wood. Nice one.

2018 bottle, 5% abv. Huge thanks to Tomo for sharing this with Marko and me. Darker golden in colour. Ripe apple, grated apple, some basement aromas, slightly sugary, some spices, lemon peel, dry grass. Some wood in flavour, smoke, floury apple. Very dry and soft, soft carbonation. Rustic.

Manoir d'Apreval Côte de Grâce Brut 2018. Thanks Tomo V! Darker yellow-golden body. A bit thin but growing cellar-like but fresh aroma, fermented apples, some wood perhaps, hay. Sweetish apple taste, light wood, barrel, silky dry body, some light residual sugars, quite drinkable. Very interesting really! Allegedly put in Calvados barrels for a time, but unsure, certainly a different profile than normal.

75cl bottle (2016) from the producer. Pours clear gold, thin white ring. Aroma has some farmyard funk. Spritzy on the palate, fairly drying with an elegant fruit presence. Could do with a touch more fruit, but for a spritzy cidre it's still pretty good. --- Beer merged from original tick of L'Incontournable - Cidre De La Côte De Grâce Brut on 23 Nov 2024 at 08:05 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5. Original review text: 75cl bottle, picked up at the producer. Pours a clear deep gold, moderate effervescence. Frosty orchard aroma. Quite a crisp start with crunchy apple skins and core, but exceptionally dry with shiny apple inflections. Misses the luscious fruitiness of their other bruts, but generally decent.

2013er Bottle. Highly carbonated, round and slightly sourish. Quite watery body, fresh ripe apples, not much sweetness left. Easy to drink, mouldy, not much depth. The aftertaste is medium, ripe dry but a bit mouldy apples, juicy fresh but not too fruity. Still nice.

Bottled. Hazy yellow colour, technically no head. Aroma is wood, apples, mild yeast and some slight vanillaish notes. Flavour is very similar, but also has some wooden and quite tart notes. Refreshing!

Bottled, vintage 2006, sampled March 2008. A hazy light golden cider with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of both apples and wood. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of apples as well as medium notes of wood. It has a medium adidity, a good body, and a dry finish.
