Cask at GBBF 2011, Day 2. Pours dark brown with a big, light tan head. Dark malts galore in the aroma, some mild tang, light dark fruits. Sweet flavor - really good! Brown sugar, toffee and caramel, moderate roast. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, good balance, mild dry roast malts, dark fruit, mild toffee. Very drinkable and good.

Cask at Reading beerfest. A black beer with nice brown head. Quite malty, fruity, chocolatey and a hint of smoke, coffee detected too. Surprisingly easy to drink at 6%. A nice stout which I’d like to have again.
