Hand-pulled pint in it’s home, The Baltic Fleet, Liverpool on 7th Feb 2014. It looks like a Stout: black with an off-white foam on top. It smells like a Stout: over roasted malts with coffee and chocolate hints. Tastes like a Stout: Malty, coffee and chocolate again, slightly burnt overtone to the whole flavourings. Medium bodied with a gentle feel, slips down well.

Cask at GBBF, Day 4. Pours black-brown with a foamy, tan head. Big mocha nose, rich roasted malts, some chocolate syrup. Nice flavor, restrained roastiness to the malts, dry roast coffee, mild milk cocoa, light ash and tobacco. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Great balance on the finish, medium roast, burnt sugar, some burnt wood, mild ash, mocha. Delicious. Excellent stout.
