This is now marketed as an IPA – so may be a different beer under the same name. Anyway, pours a golden yellow with a small foamy white head and good lacing. Aroma has tropical fruit and peaches. In the mouth there are briefly some floral hops and tropical fruits before a harsh stickiness descends over the tongue and makes further tasting impossible. Semoline ? Weetabix ?! Finish is very dry and sticky. Ugh ! Yet another light coloured Titanic beer that I can’t stand !

Cask at the Standing Order. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of light lemon and malt. Taste is light sweet, malt and more faint lemon. Pretty one-dimensional, maybe a bit thin on the finish.

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW - London. Pours clear orange-gold with a frothy, off-white head. Grainy malts in the nose, some honey, marmalade. Light sweet flavour with more simple, lightly toasted grains, leafy hops, vague dried caramel. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly astringent on the finish, with more leafy hops, lightly toasted grains. Very ho hum overall.

Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 22 January 2014. Poured a clear chestnut colour with a thin white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of sweet raisins, Christmas pudding, chewy malt and a Belgian-esque character. Nutty sweet flavour with some rounded, full dried fruit and grain. Finish was Belgian yeast esters, caramel and some dry grain. Very good bitter.

Cask @ Lloyd’s No 1, MK. Orange-yellow, not much head but lots of lacing. Apricot, grapefruit, malt aroma. Taste is middle of the road one-dimensional sour/bitter. Thin palette. Verdict: guilty of failure to deliver the taste promised by the aroma. Not one of Titanic’s best.

17th Feb 2012: Hand pulled pint in ‘The Wrekin’ Wellington, Shropshire. Brown/deep amber body colour: off-white almost beige head of foam on top which gave some good heavy lacing on my UK sleeve glass. Pleasant smell: blend of citrusy hops and malty molasses (toffee mostly) with a mini nutty undertone. The taste: More floral than the aromas, with a fairly dry bitter finish; OK more than great. Body depth and feel about right for a UK 4.4% Bitter: another ‘above average brew’ from a brewery who’s beers I enjoy drinking.

Cask@The Oxford, London. Chestnut brown with slight amber notes, small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is caramel, bread, mild nuts as well as resin and wood. Flavour is similar, but also has quite zesty and floral notes to it.
