Handpull cask at the Last Plantagenet, Leicester. Dark brown, slightly translucent with a big khaki head. Malty aroma with some forest floor, toast, some honey. Taste is slightly more subtle with the sweetness giving way to bitter hop notes in the finish. Suggestions of liquorice and stone fruit in the aftertaste. A very decent strong bitter.

Cask at the Monk’s Retreat (JDW), Reading. Brown with a middling white head. Coffee, roasty malt and a little chocolate. Berries and toffee follow. Some dryness. Quite like this. It’s a bit like a mix of an ESB and a stout. An extra stouty bitter maybe?

Decent session able pub ale
Dark brown color with a fine tan head. Ok lacing down the sides of the glass. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Bready, herbal fruity and plums in the flavor.

Cask pint in The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 17th April 2016. Dark ruby with a full head: malty and sweet with dark fruity flavours. Found it hard going towards the end of the pint to be honest, I have struggled with beers from this brewery before but thought I would give them another chance: wish them well, but their beers are not for me.
