500ml bottle bought at Ølbutikken in Copenhagen in early Dec.05. Pours a deep and clear copper brown coloured body. Missing head. An aroma of malts and black berries can be stired up. Taste of malty sweetness and grain overlaid by a watered vinous mouthfeel. Vague hints of yeast and alcohol can be spotted in a short aftertaste. A bit like a very light barley wine. Overall not sufficient for a strong Yuletide beverage. The 2001/02 vintage had a much better xmas touch (23.12.2006).

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, dark amber golden with an off-white head. Sweet aroma of overripe fruit. Fairly alcoholic aroma. Rich, full body with lots of fruity accents - apricot and noble rot. Almost no bitterness. Quite a sophisticated and pleasant beer. 260806

First ratingBottle at Christmas 2005.Dark color, small head. Malty scent with alcohol in it. Not enough spices for my taste as being a Christmas beer. Taste is pretty alcoholic as well. (Bottled) Colour is brown, with a hint of amber, little head. Nose is big, roasted and fruity, with lots of malt and dried fruit. Taste is roasted, dominated by dark chocolate, toffee and dried fruit. Sweet and a bit syrupy. Hops are evident in the finish, but the malt, chocolate and fruit dominate. Very nice! But wasn’t this even better a couple of years ago?
