Bottle from HavnensVin&Tobak. Pours clear but very dark reddish brown with huge light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, fudge, grain, flour and hints of liqorice and lemon. Taste is medium sweet, light to medium bitter, light acidic and faint salty. Body is oily with fizzy carbonation. Finish is medium long and mostly sweet with notes of caramel, fudge, prunes, cream, grain, pepper, liquorice, nutmeg and hints of iron. Hard to tell if this tries to be a spicy brown ale, roasted schwarzbier or very mild but spicy stout - but a pleasant acquaintance anyhow.

Bottle. Pours hazy coffee brown with airy beige head. Rather inconspicous aroma of roast, malt and oats. Bitter, roasty flavour with sweet notes of lactose and caramel malt and touches of hops and yeast. Hints of coffee. Estery and sourish afteraste. Okay, drinkable, but nothing really special.

"Type: Dark Ale/Stout Humlenoter: Jord, fersken Maltnoter: Karamel, røg, kakao, kaffe Andet: Bitterhed: Middel (23 IBU) Bryggerens kommentarer: Styrbord er den mest komplekse ale fra Nibe Bryghus. Inspirationen kommer fra Skotland, og det er tilstræbt at brygge en ale der er mørk som en stout,..." For mig var det en lidt kedelig efter Anker Porter og også syrnet.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Meilby. Dark brown body, almost black with a big, creamy beige head. Mild and pleasantly roasted malt aroma with toast. Flavor of sweet, light roasted, dark malt and coffee. Nice body and decent aftertaste. Nice and pleasant beer without anything mind-blowing, a bit on the sweeter side.
