750ml bottle. Picked up a bottle in Cleveland for 6 dollars. Consumed December 2008, pretty much 3 years old. Still remains fairly carbonated. Deep, thick brown color. Has some dark Barleywine characteristics. Full bodied malt bomb. The aroma has faded into something different than its former glory, leaving it pungent and liquor like. Certainly a great deal of cognac flavor going on. Lots of pungent dark fruit tastes too, reminiscent of greats such as Rochefort. A classy sipping beer, probably best fresh. Rating only applies to the aged version.

Bottle at ÅBF08. Vanilla and sherry aroma. Hazy dark brown colour. Small bubbly head. Very distinct sherry flavour. Nice, I guess, but I prefer my beer without sherry.

Hazy brown with a small off-white head. Malty aroma with that oxidized cherry note. Sweet and malty with spices and plenty Belgian yeast character.

Production Date 11-23-2004. Aroma of berries, dark fruit and malt. A bit vinous. Hazy dark brown color with garnet tints. Tan head that flattened quickly. Medium body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. A bit sour. Plum and raisin with roasted malt and oak notes. Finish is almost astringent, but seems fresh. A very interesting and tasty ale.
