This is not my 7k rating, Alvinne Mano Negra is. Cask condition handpull at The County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. I haven’t had this in about 8 years, but i remember it being fantastic at The Mogul in Dover, so I was coming to the pub every day for a week hoping that the Available Soon sign would disappear and I could have this again. Black with ruby edges, lasting mid beige head. Some choc on the aroma, some dark fruits. Full in mouth, good juicy, malty balance in the mouth. God it’s brilliant, I love this. Choc and black cherry and a bit like a choc sponge in a glass. Fantastic and lives up to my long long memory of this great beer.

Cask at the Pembury Tavern, London on 3rd October 2009. Dark ruby, almost black body with thin brown head that dissipates to something very small. Richly flavoursome; hint of coriander in the initial aroma. Strong sharp malts and citric/herby hoppiness combine with a little smoke to provide an exquisite blend of flavours in the main climax of this beer. A long bitter finish.

Cask at GBBF 2007. A deep red - almost brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and malt, and so is the flavor, leading to a slightly bitter finish.
