On tap at Redhook (Portsmouth). Has a nice black color with a tan head. This beer is super smooth and malty. It was more refreshing than I imagined. There is a very slight hop taste in the finish, Good porter

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby brown with a medium cremy light tan head that diminishes quickly leaving behind decent lacing on the glass. The aroma is a fruity malt with raisin and light roast. Thin mouthfeel with a bitter taste with light coffee and chocolate. Easy to drink, a good porter from Redhook.

On tap CC pours out a brown topped with a sandy tan head. Aroma of roast malt and some coffee. Tast not bad a little nutty and more of the coffee.

Bottle. Disappointing product from an otherwise top-notch brewery. Pours very dark with no head. Strong anise aroma, very thin taste. Some coffee/caramelish flavors right at the end, but too little, too late. Nothing to see here, move along.

Bottle. Black with thick foamy tan head. Chocolaty malty nose. Sweetish flavour, with notes of chocolate, toffee and unsweetened coffee. Bittersweet chocolate finish with a rather thin body. Drink this if you can find it. It’s a worthy black porter.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 8 Aug 2007) Black colour with brownish notes, brief head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of toffee and chocolate, a bit thin. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate and toffee, fairly sweet. Rather short, chocolatey finish. Not bad at all, but not really my favourite porter.
