Hancock's HB dates from at least 1925 and is a traditional Cask Ale with an aroma full of crystal toffee and pear drops, with a hint of liquorice. A touch drying, it's soft and smooth malty palate has a faintly sharp finish.

Cask, Egremont Ferry, Wallasey. One of the most forgettable beers I’ve tasted in some time. Lacking in aroma, body and flavour. Nice views of the Ark Royal coming up the Mersey from here though.

Cask-conditioned. Amber with very little head. Slightly sweet aroma of caramel, followed by a similarly sweet flavour. Not much of a finish to this watery beer. Dull.

Cask at the Red Lion (think that was pub name) Castle Eaton, Gloucestershire 09-06-07. I think this was place name, this was a few pubs in on our Thames Tipple, starting at the source in Kemble and due to finish at the end in a year or two’s time one hopes. This was fine session beer if a bit dull, far to safe, lacking in bitterness and flavours.

Cask (Ye Olde Bulls Head, Beaumaris): Light amber coloured, firm and lacing head; very faint malty aroma with traces of sulphur (!?), sourish (infected?), mild bitter flavour, light bodied to watery; light bitter finish. No glory............

Cask at Black Lion, Appledore, Kent. Copper brown ale bitter. Piney hops on nose, ok in mouth, some good citrus acids and a bitter finish. Head dimishes by half way down a pint

Well, it used to be a Welsh beer anyway. It was brewed in a Bass facility in Cardiff, and I'm not sure if that's running anymore. Amber colour; funny smell like malt mixed with mincemeat; palate also shows me mincemeat, plus apricots, malt and caramel.
