The very first beer brewed by Ninkasi and Christophe Fargier in September 1997, as of 2020 the Ninkasi Ambrée becomes the Ninkasi Pale Ale!
Ninkasi Ambrée is an American Pale Ale style beer and is one of the breweries perennial favourites. Light and refreshing, with a measured bitterness, this delicate, amber-bodied brew is capped by a thick off-white head, releasing waves of yeasty, brown sugar, malt and fruit notes. On the tongue, you’re treated to more fine fruity malts, with citrus and spice, alongside yeast and caramel that usher in a light, crisp, finely bitter finish.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is malt with caramel, soft hops, touch of fruits, and a brett infection. Flavour is light to moderate sweet with a mild bitterness. Medium body. I could smell the brett infection a mile away... Surprisingly drinkable considering the unintentional disaster.

Tap @ Ninkasi Part-Dieu, Lyon. Clear deep golden body under a white head. Nice, clean aroma of malt, toffee and fruity hops. Taste is smooth malt, American hops, medium bitterness. Medium body and same aftertaste. Nothing extraordinary, but well made, balanced non offending beer that’s a great match to burgers etc.

cleear dar amber colour, huge, dense and long lasting ecru head; aroma of fruity (also some dried apricot), rye bread crusty, floral, some honeycomb toffee and vegetables notes; taste has the same notes and some roaste nuts; honestly I do not really understand why the hell a beer with dark amber colour and clear amber-beer notes in the aroma and taste are called as Pale Ale...anyway, let's assume that it is just a mistake of a stupid guy from the brewery and not a systematic error
