Bottled. An amber beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of both caramel and hops, leading to a dry and slightly bitter and metallic finish. OK body.

Bottle: Dark ruby coloured, small off-white foamy layer, sweet dark-malt, port-wine and ashes in the nose; bitter-sweet, a bit alcoholic flavour; malty, roasted-malty, a bit vinous, slightly bitter finish. Pleasant stuff.......

500ml bottle from Tesco. Ruby chestnut body with a coffee coloured head leaving good lacing;citrus, malt, and honey on the nose; smooth and full bodied, some banana, and chocolate but also burnt cinder toffee. To me the burnt sugar is the dominating flavour, leaving a dry bitter finish.

500ml bottle from Tesco. Black beer with thin tight beige head. Tar and liquorice and roasted malts. Some sourness in mouth, then liquorice finish. Some choc and coffee. More like an old ale for me. Nice enough though
