Cask handpump at the Queen's head minehead. Probably a rebadge of a Sharp's beer. A clear amber copper coloured pour with a loose off white head. Aroma is light thin malts, light twig, raisin bread. Flavour is thin, chalky, mineral, brown thin malts. Palate is chalky, thin, lowish carbonation . Boring straight forward bitter.

On keg at Ton Pentre FC - Nothing like I remember from my youth when we’d head to the Midlands. Bland, boring, run-of-the-mill nitrokeg bitter. Shared some good anecdotes from years gone by with it though.

Keg at the Woodmans Rest, Solihull. Poured a clear medium amber with a smooth frothy white head. The aroma is light malt. The flavour is light to medium bitter with a light malt light hop palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Plenty of body but lacks bitterness or any kind of defining flavours. Not a patch on the M&B beer of the 80’s and 90’s. Rather sad really.

Options were limited at a 40th birthday at a local pub brown malty slight bitter served in a glass. Pretty uninspiring.

Smooth bitter with a thick and creamy head. Crisp with no real flavours, but its character doesn’t demand any.

Cask via handpump at the Town Wall Tavern, Coventry, England on 3rd November 2009. Amber with lasting ring of white foam. Sweet initially with biscuit malt aromas. Bitterness is not absent though, with a hoppy mix of floral and bitter hoppiness ending in a rounded, thirstquenching finish.

Cask at the Holyhead, Coventry. Amber with a thick creamy head, looking almost like a nitro-keg; plan dry taste with little body or live. Very average.
