Trad brown bitter that looks the part - amber brown with a frothy / creamy white head - but is a tad disappointing, quite thin, some malt and some fruit and some floral bitterness

Two hand-pulled pints on 11th June 2016 in The White Lion, Wellington Shropshire. Golden amber body, clear and clean: on top a white crown. Leaning towards maltiness, this easy drinking blend has a light malty front with a mild hop bitterness. OK, but lacks a bit of depth: even at 3.8%ABV.

Cask at the Holly Bush, Stockton Brook, Staffordshire. Amber with a thin cream head; caramel aroma; carmael malt flavour with a lightly bitter finish. Acceptable but boring.

Cask (handpump) @ The Swan, ST15, Stone. Clear medium orange color with a small virtually none off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, flowers, lime, toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival 2005. Not quite as bad as maeib’s experience, but almost. Hazy gold with little white head. Chemical bleach lemon nose. Better in mouth with some tart hops and some earthiness.
