Not for the faint of heart. True India Pale Ales had to withstand long sea voyages before slaking the thirst of cranky British troops stationed in the heat of India. Bracing, bitter, higher in alcohol. Trademark Propeller quality. A full-bodied ale for full-throttle beer lovers. Drink fresh.

Fast gone, off-white head, very faintly hazy orange-ochre beer. Cheesy hops, bit oxydized, rosewater, exotic fruit. Bitterish, bitter herbs/weeds, unripe berries and ditto citrus. Old green fruit, herbal tea concoction, nettles - but nice. Retronasal lime peel. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Quite good! Txs to Stef! 6/4/7/3/14

Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a creamy off-white head that has good retention and great thick lacing. Grassy hop nose with some blending yeast and mild caramel malts in the back. The taste is grassier with the yeast, again shifting things from an IPA to almost, a Belgian IPA. Smooth mouthfeel with a little dryness in the finish. Different, but decent overall.

650ml bottle from NSLC, Baddeck NS. A slightly hazy pale amber pour with a ring of white head; woody aroma with obvious alcohol; resinous piney taste; sharply bitter with grapefruit and alcohol to finish. Very unbalanced.

Sampled from the tap at Maxwell’s Plum. Pours a clear gold with a white head throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has sweet citrus and grass with a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has a nice sweet citrus with light grain and a bit of hay backing.

Bottle from the brewery shop. Pours a crystal clear deep straw color with a huge tightly bubbled white head that leaves a huge a mount of stickies on the glass. Carmel, earth, and pine in the aroma. The flavor is caramel and earth again with a touch of resin and a hint of alcohol. Sweet maltiness with just a touch of hop flavor and bitterness. Medium body and a moderate level of carbonation. English style maybe, but really tame for an ipa, or too much crystal malt to let the hops shine through. I could drink this there’s nothing wrong with it but it has a 90’s old school feel to it.

Location: Draft at Maxwell's Plum, 7/7/13

Aroma: The nose has some fruity hops to it and some malty notes as well
Appearance: It pours a hazed golden-orange color with a small white head and lace
Flavor: The has a pretty nice hop flavor, some citrus, and some light sweetness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a clean, easy drinking feel, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: This was probably the best thing that I had at Maxwell Plum's. It isn't an amazing IPA or anything, but it is a more than solid example of the style. Nice stuff.

This IPA poured a light amber colour with a quick living, off white head. to the nose there are scents of citrus, dough and white bread. First sip was very hoppy with flavours of grassy hops and a little citrus. Very hoppy IPA

On tap at Propeller in Halifax. Pours out golden topped with a tall fluffy head. Aroma was of citrus hops, grape fruit juice, light pine, and a good amount of toast. Taste was more of the grapefruit citrus hops, some lemon zest and a good malt backbone. Not a over the top IPA just a casual drinker.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A hazy orange-golden beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of hops and grass. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of citrus and hops as well as some notes of grass, leading to a dry an OK bitter finish.
