Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a murky orange-tan color with a medium sized foamy off white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet honey, bread, clove and bubblegum. The flavor was sweet honey and bread with light notes of clove, bubblegum, pepper, pear and pineapple. Nicely complex. Medium length finish of honey, bread, pineapple and clove. Full and chewy body. Well done.

Bottle @ home. Hazy, reddish brown appearance with light carbonation and no head. Dusty, slightly stale wheat, toasty malty, a bit boozy, toffee aroma with done hints of oxidation. Stale, toffee, caramel, mild wheat, musty, cardboard flavor. Well I guess if you have one of these, you missed your time to drink up.

Nice deep amber coloured body with tints of cola, rubies and even some coffee. Aroma of yeast, cherries, sour grapes, chocolate, roasted malt and even some smoke! Very complex - very nice to smell! Full-bodied; Nice strong flavour of roasted malt, figs, raisins, yeast, wheat, coffee and some light fruits. Aftertaste shows some fruit-like cherries and grapes, but mostly pit fruits. Strong malt and yeast along with bitter nuts following taste. Overall, a nice beer-albeit a year old and nice to drink! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 06-August-2006.
