Old rating - A 650ml bottle, 5.0 ABV, it was a gift from friends who visited Nova Scotia. It pours a copper colour with a loose cream coloured head. Aroma has lots if bread with sweet grains, biscuit & toffee. Tastes of toffee, hay & straw with sweet grains, mild roast and a touch of biscuit leading to a very well balanced malt medium bitter finish. Different bottle of beer in my home No. 1274

nice chestnut pour, good sized head. Nutty, caramel, with a touch of fruit in the aroma. GOod caramel malt in the flavour with some more nuttiness, and some nice english hops. Excellent for the style.

Pours a rich brown from a bottle. Roasty toast aroma, flavor adds nicely almost smoky toffee. Good bitterness, pretty good beer all around.

650ml bottle from NSLC, Baddeck NS. A copper coloured pour with a loose cream coloured head;spiced toffee aroma; smooth in the mouth with a solid malty body and a caramel taste; followed by a spicy bitterness. A good attempt at an English style ESB.
