Sweet, almost artificial, cherry nose. Crimson, no head. Cherry taste (what else) with a bit of malt foundation. Slight sherry flavors. Medium bodied. Rather too sweet when drunk cold, I can imagine it would be nice in the winter as it becomes very christmassy whe heated.

Clear ruby red. Slight, transparent-pink head. Nose of sweet cherries and “mulling” spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger. The wife says cardamoms too. Taste is sweet and God-how-spicey. Cinnamon, cloves, allspice. I’m drinking this fridge-cold and I have a warming sensation. This beer IS a sensation (it beats its’ Liefmans original hands-down). Oily, slick mouthfeel from the fruit-kernels. Long fruity (sweet dessert cherries) and spicey aftertaste. The more I drink it, the more I spot some fruit-acid lining. C’est vraiment quelque chose.

Room Temp: This has no head, but a beatiful, dark red color, preparing you for the heavy, cherry aroma that, quite literally, fills the room when you pop the cork. But that''s not the only thing in the aroma, no sir. There are loads of wintery-smelling spices that I couldn''t really identify. The smell prepares you perfectly for the flavor. Of course, there is a great deal of cherry in the taste, and those "wintery spices," but there is also a hint of maltiness, well-hidden behind a blast of tart, wine like qualities. The low carbonation adds to the wine characteristics. Actually, this is the most wine-like beer I''ve ever tasted. The beer has a huge cherry finish, with a very subtle maltiness that lingers on the tongue. I will certainly keep one of these around to try on ice in the summer. This is a very unique beer experience, from a great brewing company. Warmed up: I don''t care for this warmed up. It kind of tastes like thera-flu. The malt characteristics are more present, but so is the tartness. Warming it also adds an odd, medicinal quality to it. My rating will reflect the room temperature tasting.

Cherry flavoured ale. Slightly tart and mature, tastes of fresh fruit. Treacherously easy to drink. Outstanding!

Blood red colour. The aroma is assertive cherries and spice. The flavour is quite spicy these days, with abundant cherry. The finish is fairly tart, but also with a lot of sugariness as well. Sadly, this beer isn’t what it used to be. It is thinner, which makes the alcohol more apparent (especially when heated) and the spiciness is a bit over the top. I miss the robust maltiness that used to be there. A former classic.
