Special Beer from a long tradition. A level of alcohol which is not too high, characterised by a distinct aroma obtained through the use of the very best malts.

400ml from tap at Mother, Kødbyen in Copenhagen. Clear dark brown coloured body. Tiny beige head. Kirchenfenster to the glassware. Light smell of caramel and cinnamon. Taste of brown malts, dried fruits and season spices. Soft and clean in the mouth. Okay with the pizza at the restaurant (27.11.2014).

0.66l bottle. This is a crystal clear deep golden one with a light almost fluffy off-white medium sized head. It has a somewhat strong almond nose with pilsner ish qualities. Mushrooms with a little bit of butter, light sweetness and metallic undertones. Not to impressive on the nose really. The taste isn't really all that much to screen hurrah about either. Again, it's light metallic in a way, almost copperish with almond essence, thin watered down red fruits, some detergent soapy thing - all wrapped in to a light oily mouthfeel with a just above average carbonation level. I'm no huge fan of these kinds of Christmas beers. Surprised to see that this is an ale. 14.11.2013

Bottle, 66cl. A finger thick beige head forms over a clear, dark amber body. Maltyness, some nuts and fruityness in the aroma. Pretty straight forward and clean, but very boring too. Malty sweet flavor with a faint note of roasted malts and spices, and a nice bitterness shows up towards the finish. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Works best as a companion to hearthy food I guess. 140207

660 ml bottle. Clear amber body with a small off-white head. Quite week aroma of malt and nutshell. Flavor is sweet, light caramel malty, spicy and moderate in bitterness. Medium body and moderate in aftertaste. Drinkable, but not very exciting and not a beer I will pick for my Christmas dinner.

Bottle. Pours clear brownish amber with small white head. Aroma is malt, rye bread, hints of lemon and copper or iron, hints of prunes, dried figs and dried dates. Taste is light sweet, light acidic and light bitter. Body is watery to light milky with fizzy carbonation. Finish is medium long with notes of bread, nuts, caramel, cereal and cinnamon. A bit thin.

Temmelig bittert på en forunderlig europeisk måte, og med et lite jordaktig hint. Interessant, men jul?

Bottle at home. Pours a golden reddish brown colour with a creamy, beige, medium head. Aroma of dried fruit, caramel and some berries. The flavour is similar and is sweet and a little light. Slick mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. A light and sweet ale. An okay English pale ale.

66 cl bottle @ KBF. Rated on 26.11.2010
Aroma reminds me of Stallhagen Sommar! It has some ashy notes, grainy malt, toffee and hints of grass. Flavour has toffee, same ashy notes, some grain and nuts. Quite lager‐like, not your typical EPA.
