There is a legend about St. Patrick where after being served short pours at an inn, he told the innkeeper there was a demon living in the basement, thriving off their greed and dishonesty. We may have a few demons in our basement, but we hope never to short an honest pour.
Innkeeper is our homage to the classic Dry Irish Stout – dark as a wayward publican’s lies and as smooth as the darkness that lies beneath. Expect notes of baker’s chocolate and Sunday morning coffee, all wrapped up in a dry, toasty body.

16 oz. can from Total Wine. Pours a pitch black color with a tight, light tan head and good retention. Very good lacing. Dark roasted aroma, with a hint of coffee and faint molasses. The flavor is similar to the aroma: Dark roasted malt/barley, with limited coffee notes and some bitter dark chocolate in the finish. Very clean and smooth. Semi-creamy texture. Medium-light body. Low carbonation. Low bitterness. A really good stout.

Dry but still offering up a subtle chocolate sweetness, mixed with cascara and roasted malt, finishing a slightly bitter, slightly acidic note. Not bad.
