Draught at the brewpub
Hazy red amber color. Unfortunately the aroma shows more an infection than the smoked. The flavor is actually smokey, the body is too weak, caramel taste, some infection too. I don’t think it’s a great beer anyway, but it’s spoiled.

Draught @ Bryggeriet Herning. Red amber color with a quite thick off white head. Sweet, smoky aroma with notes of wood and lemon. Flavour is acidic and smoky with hints of dark fruits and wheat.

Retired? I had it yesterday at Apollo! Anyway, here we go...Red-ish amber colour, small head. Smoke and toffee aroma. Smooth flavour of smoked ham with a touch of toffee. It ain’t Schlenkerla but still very drinkable.

(On tap) Dark amber colour with a small head. The smoke aroma is surprisingly weak considering the 45% smoke malt. Very light body, very light bitterness. The Finnish Teerenpeli version has much more character. 220505

Draught at the brewpub. Copper coloured. Aroma and flavour of pinewood smoke and black Finnish tar. Interesting. Fairly light bodied.

A hazy red beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is smoked with some notes of tared rope and seaweed. The flavor is sweet and very smoked which again gives it notes of tared rope and seaweed. The end is dry and roasted.

A clear red-brown beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is very nice of rope, tar, and smoke. The flavor is very carbonated with a nice amount of smoke and bacon, which intesifies in the end. The end is dry, slightly smoked, and bitter. It doesn’t have enough rope and smoke combared to bacon for my taste - and the body is slightly thin.

This beer is slightly hazy and dark amber almost nut brown and it has a fine head. The aroma is pretty sweet with notes of yeast. The flvavor is lovely - sweet at first then malty like almonds, and then the smoke hits you. The smoke is blended with malt sweetness but in the end the sweetness fades away and a dry burnt smokeyness stays on the tongue. The smoke never dominates, so this beer won't scare anybody (exept sworn Bud drinkers). An interesting beer and definately one of Apollo's best though a beer enthusiast would like more smoke. The body is somewhat thin - especially considering the 5.7% ABV.

Draught. Aroma is a bit like cheap pilsner. Dark copper colour, nice creamy head. Mild smokey flavour with an OK, semi-long smokey aftertaste. OK beer, but a little weak and boring.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear nut brown, small beige head. Light beechwood smokey aroma. Light-medium bodied with very hard and clean mouthfeel. Buttery finish. The smoke flavour is there, but it’s not accompanied by any malt depth.
