Bottle from Spar, Gudhjem, Bornholm - brown pour with off white head. Overt sweet malty, with notes of caramel, toffee, some nutty notes, dark fruity notes, brown sugar, light spice, but overall a touch too sweet (even for me)

Bottle shared at the 2015 edition of the chriso Pre-GBBF tasting - London. Big thanks to Chris for pulling this bottle from his vault. Cheers! Pours clear amber with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds funky earth, toasty bread and dough. Medium sweet flavour, a bit doughy, with some ripe fruits. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sugary finish with more bready malts, mellow ripe fruits. OK overall.

Pre GBBF tasting at Chris and Ruth’s. Dusty bottle from the Chris O archives. Clear amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Sweetish malts, some cream. Mild floral bitterness. Light dried fruits. Light finish. Fine!

Nice darker unfiltered beer.. But that’s all there ever is. Very little taste, very little of everything. An average beer of great genre.

Bottle. Slightly hazy body, golden-orange in color, and topped by a nice off-white head. Fruity nose, some caramel. A bit weak maybe, but pleasant. Full-bodied with a touch of warming alcohol. The commercial description mentiones nuts, I don’t think I would have sensed without reading it, but it’s there. Malty sweetness and some caramel too. Sweet, caramel finish. A decent doppelbock, but it’s a bit weak in both aroma and flavor, definately not competing with the best German species. 100618
