Lightly sweet, super dry, strangely aggressively bitter. Some
Baking cocoa. Oily, harsh bitter finish. A little weird.

Can shared at craft beer junction bermondsey tasting. Many thanks. A jet black coloured pour with a lasting khaki head.. Aroma is salty liquorice roast, woody char. Brown sugars. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, salty liquorice, roast, oily, moderate carbonation. Pretty decent.

CBJ bottle share, thanks to Fergus for the can. Near clear dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Airy smooth palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, some sweetish dark chocolate. Candy dark chocolate. Oats maybe. A little spicy something before a light semi dry finish. Okay. Drinkable. The original Brewdog would have mocked this beer.

Keg at Brewdog Paddington, London. A black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel, vaguely fruity taste, aroma is similar. An interesting beer and quite enjoyable, not what I expected.

Crowler from Dogtap Ellon. It pours jet black with a thick, dense brown head. The aroma is super dark roasted, bitter - sweet, decadent, plenty of rich chocolate, dark chocolate torte, espresso, chocolate covered coffee beans, touch of umami and liquorice all sorts. The taste is bitter upfront, dry, dark roasted malt, umami, bitter - sweet character, plenty of rich roasted coffee, espresso, plenty of chocolate, brownies, mocha, charred, burnt toast, touch of fruit cake, kick of booze, chocolate bourbon biscuits and liquorice with a charred finish. Fulsome body, well appointed carbonation and velvety mouth feel. No nonsense, adjunct free fun times. Rather good.
