Pulling Nails is our ongoing experiment in the art of blending individual threads of different beers to create one unique, complex, finished beer. Blend #5 showcases our love for fruit refermentations in oak. Threads for Blend #5 include:
Kriek du Fermier - with Balaton Cherries
Coolship Blond (late 2013 brew) - with Montmorency Cherries
The Balaton Cherries add unique baking spices, cherry tannins and dried leather to the vibrant acidity, fresh juice and youthfulness of the Montmorency Cherries. Tons of Brettanomyces influence in this blend and earthy hops lends itself more toward a Belgian profile than our highly tart Missouri Wild Ale approach.
Expecting this to age gracefully for years to come.

Bottle pour at RB Best. It pours a rose/orange color with a white head. The aroma has big notes of unripe plums with a touch of sour cherries. THe flavor has a nice combo of sweet/tart plums, cherries and strawberries. Soft funk with a velvety mouthfeel. Some light herbal/spice in the finish. Tasty.
