500ml bottle bought as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Reddish brown, slightly hazy with an uneven head. Sweet, resinous aroma with fresh sugared berries and some caramel. Tastes sweet at first, with some spiciness from the rye. Hoppy bitterness in the slightly drying finish. More pine resin in the aftertaste. Thin body, medium carbonation. I love these kinds of beers, and I’m especially crazy about this one.

500ml bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours lightly hazy deep amber - brown with a thick, sturdy yellowy - khaki head. The aroma is great, bright , juicy, zingy, tangy, plenty of citrus, blood orange, pink grapefruit, jammy red fruit, resinous pine, marmalade and brown bread. The taste is firmly dry, pleasing and punchy bitterness which lingers throughout, toasted pine, peppery spice, sappy, resinous, pithy, zesty, grapefruit, blood orange, waxy peel, hearty brown bread and wood with a lingering bitter, spicy finish. Medium body and moderate, supporting carbonation. Lovely stuff. Really like the bitterness. Satisfying.

On tap at The Kernel, pours a minimally hazy dark reddish amber with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out pretty of rye, earthy hops, and bready malt. Flavour is robust for a rye red ale, with plenty of crusty bready malt, earthy hops, and some toasted nuts. Totally expertly done. Hops are vibrant, malt base is clean and deep, and the balance is perfect. Excellent.
Decent pepper kick from the rye.
